My background started as a child bringing home every animal I could. Some stayed, some didn’t. At around the age of 13 I began working with a rescue group in New Jersey. Through high school and college, I worked at Veterinary Hospitals and a large boarding kennel. Moving from New Jersey to Vermont in 1984, I worked with two large/small animal, avian, and wildlife veterinarians, all of which taught me so much about animals and veterinary medicine.
Eventually I began working at a boarding kennel in North Clarendon Vermont. This is where I met George, my husband of 13 years. I thorougly enjoyed working and running the boarding kennel business, it had been a dream of mine since a little girl. George owned the kennel and was also a Professional Handler and was on the road many weekends at dog shows. Although we loved Vermont and the kennel business, other opportunities arose in the Pet Industry bringing us to Sarasota, Florida in 1994. Here we established a Veterinary Business that was very successful from 1997-2010. We currently retired and are now having more fun with our dogs and the timing was right to have our first Chessie litter. We have also become involved with Chessie Rescue and currently placed our first rescue girl, Josey, in the best home possible! It is very satisfying to take in an unwanted pet, see thelove that still exists in that dog, and place her into her forever, loving home.

I began my career in pets in the 1970’s beginning with a Professional Grooming shop. I then moved on to working with a renowned Newfoundland kennel in Vermont. From there I mastered several types of training methods and behavior training and consultations. I opened a boarding kennel in Vermont in the ‘80’s. Based from the kennel I handled professionally throughout the East Coast. I continue to work in the sales and marketing division of Fromm Dog Food for the past 30years.
